The Industrial Treehouse
Tucked away in a quiet street just 100 metres from Burleigh’s iconic beach and close to the restaurants, bars and boutique the coastal hot spot is famous for, this award-winning four-bedroom architectural home was the brainchild of owner, JSW Landscape and Design founder Jay Walker and his wife Emma.
Three Balls Red supplied bespoke lighting for this inspiring project including the Ukuba Bradshaw Wall Sconce, Soktas Coral Wall light, Moby Wall Light and our oversized Ukuba Laura Pendant.
Built by Jamie Gloag of JG Building Projects and designed around the couple’s love of entertaining and open-plan living, the light-filled home features the finest finishes such as Harbour American Oak timber flooring and doors, custom Australian brassware, Italian terrazzo tiles and Venetian plaster and Santorini Clay stone feature walls.
Tarn and Anna of @dr_acid_effects have an edgy style but the home presented initially as heritage. Tarn wanted to bring the incredible treetop aspect inside so Renee and the client decided on an industrial look that would complement and transform the hideaway.
Recycled timber floors, black Polytec kitchen joinery with timber accents, Concrete Nation custom benchtops and basins, oversized concrete tiles contrasted with black feature accents all added layers to the industrial style and created the the dark edge the team were chasing.
Tarn managed the site like a pro and is on to his next project which I’m sure will be completely brilliant.
