Introducing Slate, a deeply alluring glaze that brings a rich, moody aesthetic to life. Designed for those who embrace raw materials and atmospheric tones, Slate adds a sense of depth and drama to any space.

Inspired by the architectural vision of Saxon Hall, renowned for his use of local Tasmanian timbers and dark, textural facades—Slate captures that same grounding presence through ceramic form.

The Slate Tall version is ideal for elongating vertical surfaces such as timber or concrete walls. Its dark charcoal, nearly black hue is accented by natural variations of copper and chocolate, each piece shaped by its position in the kiln. In direct light, Slate reveals a soft, almost metallic shimmer, adding another layer of intrigue.

To ensure a clean, minimal profile, Slate is mounted on a custom-designed electrical backplate that hugs the wall tightly. For consistency while retaining its handcrafted charm, each piece is slip-cast.

As with all handmade ceramics, slight differences in form, finish, and tone are to be expected, and celebrated. These natural variations add unique character and lasting value to every Slate light.
