JACE SPACE
Introducing Declan Sullivan and Tea McDonald
With its 70s-inspired interiors, variety of textures, rich, warm earth tones and sexy aesthetic, Burleigh Towers project is an inspiring shift away from the white modern coastal trend which dominated in 2023.
The recently-competed project is the meticulous work of Jace Space’s talented Declan Sullivan and Tea McDonald , who were responsible for the full design, documentation and renovation of the beachside apartment.
“The brief was lots of warmth, lots of timber and lots of intrigue,” Tea tells Three Balls Red.“
Our client was actually our inspiration behind the design. He brought a lot of his ideas to the table from projects he has completed in Bali.
“It was a really fun project to work on as it was a very collaborative process with the client and we were constantly bouncing ideas off each other.”
The result is an exemplary example of considered design, quality finishes and materials and meticulous craftmanship.
A feature wall, crafted from a Hurford’s wood line in Tallowwood, is a standout whilst the beautiful timber floors are from the Hurford’s Native Series in pre-finished blackbutt.
All of the fixtures and hardware used throughout the apartment have been finished in brushed nickel for warm and timeless appeal.
The piece de resistance though, according to Tea, is the kitchen island bench, featuring tiles sourced from Three Balls Red.
“I love the interiors as it is refreshing to see a shift away from the light and bright ‘modern coastal’ look we see a lot,” says Tea.
“The timber wall panelling is a standout feature throughout the apartment however the custom island bench is the showstopper.
“We used the Terra & Blanc 100 x 100 tiles for the bench. We love working with the girls at Three Balls Red.
“Jas and the team always have the best vibes and always take the time to help us make the best selections for our projects.”
We are absolutely thrilled to have been involved with such a standout project.
