TBR’s Winter Edit 2025

Winter’s here, and it’s time to stop playing it safe.

This season, interiors are dialing up the drama, the texture, and the personality.

At Three Balls Red, we’re obsessed with spaces that feel alive, layered, and unapologetically stylish.

It’s the kind of fearless, art-forward design that Kelly Wearstler has championed for years. Think spaces that don’t just look good but feel alive and unapologetically personal.

Team TBR have put together an edit of the five trends heating up winter 2025, designed to make your home a sanctuary - with attitude.

Emo Glam

Forget playing it “safe” - this is full-on mood lighting.

Deep tobacco velvets, smoky glass, and vintage brass fixtures bring theatrical flair that’s sultry without trying too hard.

Our creative director Jas’ tip is to mix a sculptural brass pendant with plush velvet cushions for maximum drama that still feels cosy.

Touch Me Textures

Our TBR interior team believes your home should feel like a second skin — soft, inviting, and tactile.

Suede, aged leather, and hand-thrown ceramics create an irresistible sensory experience. Run your fingers over a boucle throw or pop your glass of vino on a textured ceramic coaster, and you’re instantly grounded in luxury that feels real.

The New Neutral: Bone, Brown & Black

Wave goodbye to boring beige. This season’s neutral palette is deep, rich, and a little bit moody - think warm browns, soft bone tones, and grounding blacks.

“Balance the darkness with natural wood and brass accents to keep the look inviting, not heavy,” says Jas.

Sculptural Lighting

Lighting is the new art installation, and your ceilings are the gallery walls.

Alabaster pendants, aged brass sconces, and hand-blown glass aren’t just functional - they’re statement pieces that elevate every corner of your home.

We think Kelly Wearstler would definitely approve.

Intentional Layers

Maximalism with meaning. It’s not about clutter, it’s about curated layering.

Artisan ceramics, soft throws, and bespoke lighting combine to create a vibe that’s deeply personal and endlessly stylish. Your space tells your story without saying a word.

Ready to heat things up? Three Balls Red’s Winter 2025 edit can help you make every room a masterpiece of mood and texture.

Jas caught up with the incredibly talented Perri from House of Pez to hear her expert tips on creating the perfect winter space — from embracing moody colours to making a bold impact in your home.

Jas: I love that you’re not afraid to use colour and lean into those moodier, darker tones. For those of us who are a little hesitant, what’s your advice on committing to that look in the right way?

A lot of people default to lighter palettes, worrying that darker hues will make a space feel smaller, but there’s such a richness and depth that comes with going dark — how do you make it work?

Perri: Leaning into moodier tones doesn’t mean sacrificing simplicity or space — quite the opposite. Deeper, earthy hues can actually make a room feel more welcoming and relaxing, especially in winter.

My tip, if you want to embrace some darker tones, is to remember: dark doesn’t mean dull. Pair them with lighter trims, matte and gloss features, bright artworks, lots of warm mood lighting, linen or wood — and the space will come alive.

Jas: What are your tips for those starting a home project and wanting to create that real 'wow' factor in a space? And for those who love the idea of making an impact but feel a little nervous, where’s the best place to start, and how can they ease into it?

Perri: If you’re embarking on a home project, start with a smaller space like a powder room or laundry, these are great places to experiment without the pressure of a larger area. If you’re going in, go all in! Colour-wrapping a room can be a huge feature — so paint the ceiling too. It adds depth and drama in the best way. These smaller zones are perfect for bold choices that deliver maximum impact without taking over your whole home.
