Wingspan is a home that reveals itself slowly. From its restrained street presence, there is little indication of the expansive waterfront residence waiting beyond. As the spaces unfold, so does the experience — layered, immersive, and quietly dramatic.
Designed by the incredibly talented Jayson Pate Design, constructed by PJH Constructions, with interiors designed by Our Next Project, the residence is a refined example of thoughtful collaboration. Every contributor has played a role in shaping a home that feels resolved in every detail.
Soft architectural curves and an earthy material palette establish an immediate sense of warmth. Textured render by Render X paired with timber detailing creates a façade that feels sculptural yet grounded, setting the tone for the spaces within. Throughout the home, natural finishes add richness and depth while maintaining a calm, cohesive atmosphere.
The entry sequence is designed to leave an impression. A soaring void filled with natural light creates a striking sense of scale, softened by curved forms that gently guide movement from one space to the next.
Sightlines have been carefully considered, drawing attention toward the statement garden positioned opposite the wine cellar — a moment that feels both dramatic and serene.
Materiality plays a defining role in the home’s identity. Natural stone extends seamlessly from indoors to out, dissolving the boundaries between spaces and strengthening the connection to the surrounding coastal landscape. This continuity creates a sense of flow that carries throughout the residence.
At the centre of the home, the kitchen becomes a sculptural focal point. Firestone Sassi Di Matera marble introduces movement, texture, and depth, transforming the space into something both functional and expressive.
The stone continues into the alfresco and master suite, creating a consistent visual language across the home. Complementing these finishes, the cabinetry by Realistic Fitouts adds another layer of craftsmanship and refinement.
Elsewhere, moments of warmth emerge through subtle shifts in tone. The laundry introduces terracotta hues that bring softness and personality, balanced against timber joinery and natural stone surfaces.
Positioned to embrace its elevated outlook, the master retreat captures sweeping skyline views across Mermaid Waters from a private balcony designed for quiet pause and reflection. The ensuite continues this connection to the outdoors, centred around a sculptural round bathtub that frames the view beyond.
