Creating a Tropical Luxe Look at Home
No interior style is quite as transportive as a well executed Tropical Luxe interior and exterior. Think white rendered walls, natural woven pendants and some lush greenery to instantly transport you to a Villa in Bali! With the weather warming up around Australia, the design team at Three Balls Red thought what better time to share with you their top tips for creating your very own Tropical Luxe slice of paradise at home.
Get Inspired
There are a lot of different interpretations of Tropical Luxe style to inspire, depending on your taste.
For a more polished and sophisticated version, look for Hamptons and Colonial style to glean some style tips. Think plantation shutters, high pitched ceilings, blue and white upholstery, with linen and brass accents (for the luxe touch!)
For a more laid back Island vibe, look for Jungalow, Island style or Mediterranean style. Here you’ll find lots of gorgeous texture like woven pendants, lush greenery, natural rugs, light timber and pops of colour from fun tropical wallpaper.
Key design elements to nail
There are a few key style elements that work beautifully across all interpretations of this style.
Woven Pendants
Natural texture is a key feature of either a Hamptons or Tropical Island luxe. At Three Balls Red we have a stunning range of woven pendants to suit your space and budget. Through our network of weavers, we can even custom pendants to your exact specifications. Here are some of our best selling favourites.
Natural Floor Coverings
To create that breezy feel synonymous with Tropical Luxe, timber or tiles both work beautifully for flooring. To bring more of that gorgeous texture, neutral toned rugs made from natural fibres will not only feel beautiful underfoot, but also bring some softness and layers to your space. Weave rugs are ethically made with beautiful New Zealand wool, and are so thick and luxurious.
Timber Accents
Keeping in the neutral theme, beautiful timber accents, especially in Oak and blonder timbers are the perfect addition to complement your tropical oasis. Combined with rattan or woven leather, you’ll be left with a beautifully layered and natural space
