Meet, The Oxley 1823
Nobbys Beach has long been loved by Gold Coasters for its laidback ethos and coastal charm.
Whilst Surfers Paradise’s glitter strip had the nightclubs, Nobbys epitomised relaxed and slow southern Gold Coast living with the old-school shopfronts and barefoot locals moving from the surf to the slew of cafes and surf clubs.
In recent years, the precinct was looking a little tired with southern suburbs of Burleigh, Miami and Palm Beach drawing locals and diners in droves.
Enter the Oxley 1823, the newest architecturally-designed dining and lifestyle destination in the heart of Nobby Beach.
While introducing a vibrant and elevated culinary and retail experience, The Oxley, the brainchild of developer Daniel Veitch, pays homage to Nobby’s coastal roots and charm. "The Oxley represents the evolution of Nobby Beach, paying tribute to its rich history and embracing the old school Nobby's feel, with the added convenience locals need all in one central place," said Daniel, Managing Director of Dankav Developments.
The thoughtfully designed 4,000sqm precinct, designed by BDA Architecture in close consultation with Daniel, features a network of laneways and lush landscaping accompanied by a collection of intimate dining spaces to enhance the visitor experience.
Offerings include The Oxley Village Grocer, a 1,000sqm grocery shopping experience with previous tenant Steve, of Gourmet Meats, returning to the precinct as the Village Butcher. Vibrant Buoy Cafe is a local’s favourite for breakfast, while Sunkist Eatery in the Oxley Atrium is the perfect spot for a glass of wine and some lunch.
There’s also striking oyster and sashimi bar Eska, European-style espresso and wine bar Moustache and new culinary favourite, Lars Bar & Grill.
“I believe The Oxley has successfully fulfilled its vision, with a strong emphasis on creating a place that encourages neighbours to reconnect,” BDA’s Darren Greenaway tells Three Balls Red.“Dankav’s dedication and vision to providing a community retail hub has made The Oxley a meaningful and essential space for the Nobby’s community."
”We couldn’t agree more. Three Balls Red was thrilled to supply tiles and product for The Oxley and its various venues and want to congratulate Daniel, BDA Architecture and everyone involved in this inspiring project.
