“Pieces that are timeless, in classic shapes and silhouettes that can have many lives and evolve through reupholstery.
”This means flamboyant, Instagrammable spaces and impractical, trend-driven furniture have reached their used-by date and replaced with high-quality materials, luxurious textures and classic lines that are designed to last and enjoy for years to come.
Dramatic lighting
We’ve long been singing the praises of a well-thought out lighting scheme. The Three Balls Red design team won’t say we told you so but this season, statement lighting is a key trend with a fresh focus on exaggerated scale and form.
“Lighting has almost become an art form,” says Dowthwaite. “Wall sconces, lamps, pendants and sculptural lighting add points of interest and set the mood.

Spring and summer are the seasons for doing away with somber tones and heavier textures and adding some fun and frivolity to a space.
Three Balls Red’s Jasmine Dowthwaite says unique, quirky colour combinations will reign supreme this spring and summer.
“Expect to see pink hues with tans, dark blues and light blues and peach with terracottas,” says Dowthwaite.
"These fun colour combinations add joy to a space and pops of individuality.”
Maximalism
Forget ‘very demure’, this spring is the season to embrace your inner maximalist and get bold.
Artfully executed by the queen of modern design, Kelly Wearstler, the more-is-more aesthetic champions the eclectic mix of patterns, colours, texture and layering to create a playful and striking space.
Intentional and curated, maximalism - a subset of postmodernism - celebrates self expression and sparks joy.
