Here at Three Balls Red, we love Australian-made brands, especially those contemporary, design-led products where craftmanship, quality and exceptional service is paramount.

Needless to say, we are absolutely thrilled to be working with Perth-based architectural concrete masters, Nood Co, creators of the most divine coloured – 15, in fact - concrete basins, which work back with any interior style.

Founded in 2017 by Matt Di Costa and Chris Walker, Nood’s basins – including surface mount, wall hung, pedestal and freestanding designs – are sold in 42 countries across the globe.

Nood wowed the discerning crowd - and TBR’s creative director, Jasmine Dowthwaite - at the recent Design Show Australia in Sydney with their existing range and the launch of their new conscious colour and basins ranges, inspired by handmade clay forms and beautiful organic shapes.

Nood’s basins not only have serious aesthetic appeal, the brand has some impressive eco credentials – the concrete harbours zero chemicals and the tint is chemical-free – and quality is a top priority meaning the basins never delaminate or have to be resealed.

Three Balls Red caught up with co-founder Matt Di Costa, a former polished plasterer, architecture student and The Block contestant, to learn about the brand and their plans for the future.

What inspired you to start Nood?

We wanted to develop a range of Australian-made, premium concrete products that met real-world expectations. Our love is design, and through that, we look for durability. A masculine building material with a super feminine presentation.

Hence the word, Nood – soft, simple, curvy products that not only depend on their material but their colour and design.

We love that! Why do you think clients are drawn to architectural concrete?

There is an authenticity to concrete. I feel Aussies relate to that.

What do you think differentiates Nood from competitors?

Nood’s ground-up is different - from material, design, sustainability, packaging, manufacture, we are different. But the main difference is performance. Our basins last the distance.

Tell us, do you plan on adding bath tubs to the range?

Absolutely! We are deep in that process. Wait until you see what’s coming…
