THREE BALLS RED HOME TOUR

The modern farmhouse is undeniably having a moment in architecture and interior design.

While now far more contemporary than the classic, rustic farmhouse, the endearing style’s soaring vaulted ceilings – which create a feeling of grandeur and space - open floorplan, lightness and warmth contribute to its timeless appeal across the globe.

An exceptional example of a modern conversion is the recently competed Maybree Estate residence in the lush Tallebudgera Valley, which blends elevated farmhouse decor with contemporary design.

Set on four acres, the five-bedroom, five-bathroom luxurious modern home was custom-built by Three Balls Red's long-time clients, Wave Developments, designed by acclaimed building designer, Jayson Pate, with interior design by Culina Design Group and styling by Osbourne & Co. Design Studio.

TBR was thrilled to supply the tiles for this outstanding project, including the Artisan Snow feature tile, the Lava White - the main 60x60 tile – and the Hammond Green Sukabumi-style pool tile.

Jayson Pate says the design brief was to create a ‘beautiful, functional, free-flowing home’ for the idyllic acreage site, which was suitable for families of all sizes.

“The large acreage lot size allows a designer so much freedom,” Pate tells Three Balls Red. “Maintaining beautiful proportions and functional spaces is the key on these sites. Bigger is not always better and generally will not suit a client’s budget.”

Pate says the U-shaped floor plan creates an abundance of natural light and ventilation whilst also providing the opportunity to locate the pool within a private, wind-protected, north-facing court.

“The round pool becomes a feature from almost every room in the house,” he says. Pate says it’s Maybree Estate’s quality of finishes sets it apart. “You can feel it when you walk through the doors,” he says.

Wave’s Adam Mullins agrees and adds that the home’s acreage position coupled with the close proximity to Burleigh’s iconic beached shops and restaurants adds to the appeal. “It's in a really special position,” says Mullins. “You look out the back over four acres and can't see another house yet it is still 10 minutes’ to Burleigh Heads. “It’s an ideal home for a family wanting to be away from the hustle and bustle – but not too far.”

Team TBR would like to congratulate all involved in this exceptional project.
